A few Reviews from Trip Advisor
“Unique and magical place, wonderful people, great food”
What a magical, special place! For those who want to get off the beaten path to encounter the desert in a relaxed and intimate surroundings, this is the perfect place. Nancy Patterson and her truly warm and wonderful staff have created a unique place to stay on the edge of the desert, with a variety of experiences possible given your budget and desires, in that you can sleep in a room, on the roof under the stars, or in something more like a tent. Nancy and the staff will arrange for you the kind of experience you want, whether it be a camel ride into the the desert, or a guided walk to the nearby 800-year old kasbah. Three meals a day are available, and they are exceptional. This place made a deep impact on us. We loved it.

We stayed unfortunately only 1 night at the Dar Sidi Bounou. It is a perfect place to relax and we would recommend a 2-3 day stay.
We stayed in a hut - it is nice little hut, with basic interior.
The best part is the location - you are after 5 minute walk in the middle of the desert. Furthermore we loved the hospitality of the owner Nancy and her staff. They are more than friendly. The dinner was perfect.
Thank you Nancy for everything especially for the good talk!

“My second stay in the desert - and returning soon!”

This is an excellent place to chill out. Dar Sidi Bounou offers authentic southern Moroccan hospitality. Accommodation is in rooms in the main house, in adobe chalets, or in tents by the dunes. Nancy and Daoud are excellent hosts, and Idir, Mohamed and all the other staff are wonderful. The food - I recommend full board - is a wonderful Moroccan experience. You will enjoy home-cooked dishes not found in restaurants, and traditional live music in the evenings. Trips into the desert, camel rides, visits to the old Ksar Bounou nearby, and M'hamid's weekly market are all easily arranged. But best of all is the relaxing ambience. Enjoy meeting other interesting travellers or just contemplating the dunes and the desert sky at night. This is not a luxury resort, but a comfortable family experience on the edge of the desert. Arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.

It's the end of the world and yet you have access to running water (showers), excellent food and even wifi... everyone is very friendly. The staff will attend to your every need. You are not treated there as a client but as a guest. I enjoyed having long conversations with the owner. The owner is from UK, so she knows exactley what tourists from Europe want / need. All this creates an unique atmosphere. A safe heaven in the desert, where you feel comfotable.

A completely authentic experience with lovely food and music on the edge of the sand dunes. A warm welcome here for the more artist minded or those interested in local culture. A visit and a stay at Bounou is a must if you venture past Zagora to where the road runs out and the desert begins.
