Other activities include Excursions into the Desert by Camel, or 4X4 for a few hours or overnight, or longer to comfortable Bivouacs in the dunes or local walking tours to the ancient Kasbah at Bounou and the nearby village, Ouled Dris and the Palmeries. Longer trips by 4X4 to places such as Tidri in the Bani Chaine Mountains, about 12 km from Bounou where the remains of Neolithic hill villages with gravures exist as well as the half km. long Lac Amda n Saki, fed by a clean fresh water spring making it an ideal place for bird watching, swimming and picnicking with the possibility of seeing some nomads bring their animals to the water. There are also nearby the ruins of villages deserted at least 200 years ago which can be explored. In the spring there are abundant wild flowers and plants, many of which are still used by locals in traditional medicine.
