We have a large traditional Berber Tent in the garden which can be used for Special Feasts and Events such as a Gnawa Leyla, a Berber Wedding Party and special Meshwi Feast. Small groups might bring their own activities with them such as art. bird watching, dance, music. Contact with local musicians can be arranged. Introductory sessions for the ladies in Danse Oriental and the basics of Berber style can be available. Also there is the possibility of learning a little conversational Arabic or Berber or practicing your French.
Work on the property is continuous, adequate irrigation for the palms is provided by our twenty meter deep well. Additional trees such as olive, eucalyptus and fig were planted and a vegetable garden started, also wheat and alfalfa, as feed for our goats. It is intended to continue to work with and employ local people to gradually enlarge our small project and to maintain a strong connection with the local community and thus to be able to offer our guests the opportunity to meet some of them and get to know something deeper of the real culture and strong traditions of this part of the Sahara where making music, wearing beautifully coloured flowing clothes, sharing delicious food, drinking tea and just hanging out in hospitable and unhurried circumstances and particularly having the natural ability to exist in and enjoy fully ,or to make the best of whatever the present moment has to offer is still central to life.
