ABOUT US

Dar Sidi Bounou has been developed by a Canadian/British artist, Nancy and a Moroccan/Berber, Daoud whose family and tribe come from Bounou. The small Daub house which existed in the palmerie has been enlarged and restored using traditional beldi ( country ) style techniques as a home and as accommodation for individual travellers and small groups seeking something more personal, unique and authentic than the usual tourist facility. During the reconstruction period Nancy started a series of small acrylic paintings that record some of the events that have occurred, a partial and sometimes fanciful diary of life in this remote and tranquil bit of civilization on the margin of the great Sahara Desert. Some of these have been used to decorate the house.
