“This was a magical trip for me, starting with the bus ride through the Atlas Mountains from Marrakesh to the gate of Dar Sidi Bounou where late in the evening I was greeted warmly by a charming man called Daoud. For two weeks I ate delicious traditional beldi food prepared by Rakia and served by gracious, thoughtful Berbers. At night we all gathered round the bonfire on the dune and listened to drumming and singing by local musicians. One memorable afternoon we took a camel trek further into the dunes to watch the sun set. This is a vacation I’ll never forget.
