A BERBER STYLE MARRIAGE CELEBRATION, IN THE SAHARA AT DAR SIDI BOUNOU

wedding berber styleWould you like to celebrate your marriage in a completely DIFFERENT WAY?

Moroccans are very good at CELEBRATIONS and particularly good at celebrating marriages. Wedding celebrations are done in joyous MULTICOLOURS not nervously in pristine white satin and stiff black suits. Marriages are always accompanied by drums, singing and clapping, not by  parish church organs. There are no engraved place cards, formal seating plans, stiff floral decorations or Tottering Stiletto Heels, nor is there the European tradition that it is essential to consume vast amounts of expensive alcohol in order to have a really Good Time (although alcohol is permitted). There is instead local folkloric music, drumming and dancing, abundant delicious food, exotic colourful clothes, regional traditions, tents, camels, donkeys in the bright sunshine, by lantern light and firelight and under the moon and stars, with the gracious relaxed hospitalty and spontaneous fun that the Southern Region of Morocco is famous for. You could make your HONEYMOON journey a desert trek and leave on a tall WHITE CAMEL, instead of a stretched limo.

If you are interested in celebrating a MARRIAGE or any other big event like a birthday or an anniversary in the happy Moroccan way, we can arrange your event completely in the local traditional way or in a fusion of local and imported traditions as we did for the marriage celebrations of Marine from France and Ismael from Morocco on April 17, 2010.

PLEASE NOTE: Although it is theoretically possible for foreigners to legally marry in Morocco, it is not feasible to try to do so unless you are already resident in Morocco. This event would therefore be strictly a celebration, not an official marriage ceremony.
